Dr. Vishal Gupta

Dr. Gupta is proud to call Florida his home for the past 30+ years.  Raised in the sunshine state, Dr. Gupta dr vishal guptaattended the University of Florida where he graduated with highest honors with a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology.  He received his Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL in 1999.  Dr. Gupta did his residency in Internal Medicine at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.  Dr. Gupta continued his training by completing a fellowship in Gastroenterology in 2005 at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, one of the top ranked Gastroenterology programs in the country.

Dr. Gupta started a solo gastroenterology practice in west Volusia in 2006, which has now become Gastroenterogy of Greater Orlando, PA. Dr. Gupta has interests in all aspects of Gastroenterology and Hepatology including but not limited to GERD, ulcer disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Colorectal Cancer, Hepatitis C and diseases of the pancreas and liver. He is experienced in all endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy (EGD), dilation of strictures and management of gastrointestinal bleeding, colonoscopy, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP. Dr. Gupta has written state of the art review papers in Gastroenterology.  He is considered an authority in motility disorders (Irritable Bowel Syndrome, gastroparesis, and bacterial overgrowth), pancreatic disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.  He is also the lead investigator in developing many new and innovative new gastrointestinal therapies.

Dr. Gupta is board certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has been recognized by receiving the William Osler Award, The Patient’s Choice Award from 2008 till present, awarded the Patient’s Choice 5th Anniversary Award, Compassionate Doctor Recognition 2011 – present, and is a Healthgrades recognized physician.

A family man and loving husband, Dr. Gupta considers himself blessed to be the father of two children.  In his spare time he enjoys running, water sports, and reading.

Dr. Christina Covelli
Christina Covell MD Dr. Christina Covelli was born and raised in Orlando and is proud to call Florida her home. She received her undergraduate education at North Carolina State University where she graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in Zoology and Chemistry. She then went on to get her Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL in 2002. She completed both her Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which is considered one of the top gastroenterology programs in the country.

Dr. Covelli has interests in all aspects of Gastroenterology and Hepatology including but not limited to GERD, ulcer disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Colorectal Cancer, and diseases of the pancreas and liver. Furthermore, she is experienced in all endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy (EGD), dilation of strictures and management of gastrointestinal bleeding, and colonoscopy.

Dr. Covelli is board certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterologic Association. Dr. Covelli has been recognized by receiving the William Osler Award, Samuel D. Harris Award, and finally the William E. Dismukes Award of Excellence.

Dr. Covelli is married and is blessed with 3 wonderful children. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her 2 dogs, running, hiking and reading, all with her loving family.

Dr. Raul Badillo
Raul-BadilloDr. Raul Badillo, a native of Puerto Rico, was raised in Orlando, Fl and considers the city beautiful his home. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Central Florida where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and Molecular Biology. He then went on to obtain his Medical Doctorate degree from Boston University in Boston, MA. With the aim of settling down in his home state of Florida, he relocated to Gainesville, FL where he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Florida. Following this, he worked as an internist for North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. Finally, he completed a three year Gastroenterology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, in order to pursue his dream of helping those afflicted with diseases of the digestive system.

Dr. Badillo has interests in all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology including but not limited to esophageal disease, gastrointestinal motility disorders, celiac disease, small intestine bacterial overgrowth, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, anorectal disease and diseases of the biliary system, pancreas and liver, including new treatments for hepatitis C. He is experienced in upper GI endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, dilation of strictures and management of gastrointestinal bleeding, colonoscopy, as well as capsule endoscopy. Dr. Badillo has written several papers in the areas of gastroesophageal reflux disease, achalasia and esophageal motility disorders.

Dr. Badillo is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterologic Association.

Dr. Badillo feels fortunate to be married to a supportive and loving wife and to be the father of two wonderful children. He enjoys spending his spare time among family and friends, in addition to traveling, jogging and fishing. He is fluent in Spanish.

Allison Wallum, PA-C
Allison Wallum is a certified Physician Assistant and is licensed through the Florida Medical Board.  She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Gastroenterology Physician Assistants.

allison wallumAllison attended the Honor’s College at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL (Go Bulls!) where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science.  She then went on to earn her Masters of Clinical Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL.

Allison’s clinical rotations proved rewarding as she developed her skills under the supervision of knowledgeable and experienced providers.  She received her clinical training in several specialties including family practice, internal medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, neonatology and hospice care, as well as refining her skills in gastroenterology.

Allison is an integral part of the Gastroenterology of Greater Orlando team.  She enjoys working with a variety of gastroenterology patients and disorders, and feels greatly rewarded when improving the quality of life of her patients.  She particularly enjoys helping patients learn about their condition so that they can be actively involved in their own care. Allison’s positive attitude, enthusiasm, and compassion shine through with each patient interaction.

Allison is married and has two adorable cats.  She enjoys crafts, the great outdoors, as well as time with family and friends.

Rohan Dharmaratam, PA-C
Rohan is an extremely focused and compassionate health care professional with more than 12 years of Rohan Dharmaratam PAexperience as a clinician in the area of Respiratory Care, Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine, and Gastroenterology.  He has earned his Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Buffalo NY, where he graduated with high honors.

Rohan is interested in all aspects of gastroenterology, but prides himself on a caring, patient-focused approach to healthcare.  He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Acadamy of Physician Assistants.

Rohan is married and has 3 wonderful children that he is blessed with.  He enjoys running, exercising, and reading.
